Before the beginning of Oct. 30 of the movie about lifestyle mogul, Nelson Stewart. posted a statement on Facebook signed by him and Andrew in relation to certain parts of the film’s trailer. In a funny interview, Martha gives this advice to young women: “If you’re married and your husband starts cheating on you, it’s a bad thing. Get out of that marriage.”
According to a Facebook post from Oct. 12, Andrew has been around since his marriage to Martha ended in 1990. In the post, Nelson Stewart describes her husband as “a brilliant printer, naturalist and landscape artist, and one of the most gentle, soft-spoken, kind-hearted men I’ve ever known.”
“Andy and I have built a life of beauty, meaning, creativity, and purpose, embedded in true love,” Nelson Stewart writes in a joint statement.
But Nelson Stewart points out that this was not always the case for her husband.
“Before this happy chapter in his life, Andy had some dark ones, including a painful and abusive marriage to Martha (as in, Martha Stewart), which ended in some 40 years ago,” Nelson Stewart continued. “While Andy has quietly moved on with his life, it seems Martha is continuing to make her marriage public, including comments in a surprise trailer for the upcoming documentary. “We both wish everyone, including Martha herself, the experience of loving and being loved deeply and completely, and the peace that comes with such love,” Nelson Stewart concluded.
Although Martha is the part of the woman being mocked in the trailer and the movie, the movie suggests that Martha is the one who started the first couple’s cheating ways.
At the beginning of the film, Martha admits that she kissed a “very handsome guy” at the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Flower in Florence, Italy, while the couple was on their honeymoon.
Martha explains in the film that she felt “obliged” to go to church at that time because it was the day before Passover, and her Jewish husband “had no interest” in going to a popular church, known as the Florence Duomo. .
Martha described the church as “a very romantic place.”
Martha remembered about the place where she lived: “There is a huge beautiful place and paintings around you. It was like nothing I had ever done before. And, then, why don’t you kiss a stranger?
When the film’s director, RJ Cutler, asked Martha how she described the meeting, she replied, “Naughty?”
“Was it negligence, or was it dishonest?” Cutler asked.
“Even so,” Martha said. “It’s not crazy or about… being… dishonest. It was just a feeling, of the moment. That’s how I looked at it.”
Later in the film, Martha talks about how she was well aware that Andrew had “quite a few” girlfriends during their marriage, which lasted from 1961 to 1990, but he felt “unable to walk.”
When Cutler asked Martha if it was true that she had “an affair early in the relationship,” Martha responded by saying: “Yeah, but I don’t think Andy ever knew about that.”
“He said he knew about that,” Cutler said.
“What did he do?” Martha asked sounding surprised.
Cutler says: “He said he didn’t leave the marriage until you told him you had left.”
“Oh, that’s not true, I don’t think so,” Martha said. “I had a very short relationship with a very handsome Irish man. And, uh, it was nothing. … I would not end the marriage because of it. … It was like a cathedral kiss.”
