Bethenny Frankel slams Kamala Harris for “celebrity dating” ahead of 2024 election: “Useless” and “flex”

Bethenny Frankel believes Kamala Harris’ Hollywood deals could have cost the vice president in the 2024 election.

“I honestly didn’t think that getting involved with celebrities was a good idea and it’s a good idea,” the 54-year-old “Real Housewives of New York City” alum said in an Instagram video Wednesday .

“I don’t think the American public, in general, cares who’s hobby is with celebrities. I think it’s forbidden fruit. It’s tempting… it’s shiny and I don’t think it’s a working model. ”

However, Frankel noted that mistakes were made “on both sides” of the political aisle.

He then doubled down on his criticism of the star power Harris has received throughout his campaign.

The founder of SkinnyGirl said, “I’ve been around so many elite people that they think their choices are more important than someone else’s choices because of their social status or status. their education or because of where they worked and it’s not like that.

Frankel – who supported Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election against Donald Trump – posted a second video on Instagram Wednesday that “celebrities are no longer influential.”

He pointed out that despite the A-listers who have adopted Harris – such as Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez and other stars – there is an integrated social media following of more than millions of fans. 2 thousand, they could not “move the needle” in the direction of the Democratic party.

“That means [celebrity endorsements are] a spinning wheel, useless, humiliating and passive,” concluded the former Bravolebrity.

Others in Frankel’s comments section extended the criticism further, writing, “People struggling to pay groceries and rent don’t need any advice from celebrities.”

Another agreed, “We don’t need rich celebrities who don’t participate in the daily life of the US to tell us how to vote. It was a shameful and demeaning way to talk to the voters who pay the living wage.”

Leading up to Election Day, Harris not only received endorsements via social media from stars like Swift, 34, but also invited celebrities to participate or perform at her rallies.

Megan Thee Stallion worked in Atlanta in July shortly after President Joe Biden withdrew from the race to give Harris, 60, the Democratic nomination.

The vice president also said Beyoncé gave a great speech in October and Cardi B also spoke at a separate event in Milwaukee later that month.

GloRilla closed the campaign trail with a performance at the same meeting the “I Like It” rapper attended.

Page Six reached out to Harris’ representatives for comment on whether they regret their decision to invest so much energy in the campaign but did not immediately respond.

The vice president also showed no regrets in his acceptance speech on Wednesday.

He told his supporters from his alma mater, Howard University, at the time, “My heart is full today, full of gratitude for the trust you have placed in me, full of love for our country , and full determination.”

Trump, 78, beat Harris by winning 295 electoral college votes and a majority of the popular vote.
